AuraGateway makes
provision for mapping Carriers into Channels based
on Channel Plans that the User controls. The fundamental
Digital access methods are FDMA, TDMA and CDMA. FDMA is treated as a
combination of Fixed Digital and/or Fixed Analog Carriers on various
frequencies in AuraGateway.
In the screen shown, a wideband CDMA frequency
allocation is being shared by three earth stations, each of which has been
assigned a unique orthogonal code. A fixed digital channel and a
narrowband fixed analog signal are assigned above the wideband CDMA
channel.

Whereas channels are sometimes pre-defined by the FCC,
ITU and other regulatory bodies in microwave frequency bands, satellite
communications does not have that luxury. Every transponder is different,
and the planning has to reflect the actual and anticipated traffic that
the transponder will carry.
