Who Needs AuraGateway?

A wide variety of users can benefit from the use of the program.
Anyone who does satellite link analysis
Anyone bidding, designing, or planning satellite networks
Anyone maintaining a satellite network of any size
Anyone interested in adjacent satellite interference analysis

Typical Applications:

Link Analysis

An individual wants to analyze a single link between two earth stations. He/she creates a Case. Within the Case, a single satellite and transponder is selected from the satellites database, and added to the case. Two earth stations are added to the case, and placed at locations desired. The link analysis is quickly run and a report generated.

A Satellite Network Bid

A client wants twenty satellite earth stations, all of which will operate on a single satellite transponder. An engineer is assigned to design and bid the network by selecting appropriate earth station antenna sizes, modulation types, and establishing baseline performance.

Network Definition Alternatives

AuraGateway is designed to allow the user to achieve the maximum level of network definition using the minimum amount of knowledge that the user may have at a given time.
For example, when a user is writing a proposal for a satellite project, site locations are typically not known, equipment vendors will not have been selected, and various other elements of the network will be unspecified. Yet the user is expected to provide enough insight into the network design to win the contract.
AuraGateway can size a network based on generic earth station antennas where only the antenna diameter and frequency are specified if necessary. Yet the program also supports the ability to refine the case by including specific antennas when they become known.
Where sites will be placed in cities, but at unknown coordinates, AuraGateway contains a cities database with central coordinates in those cities for the purposes of rough definition of the network. A site module is provided to support the site surveys that will provide high levels of definitions of each earth station site.
This general philosophy exists throughout the program, making it extremely user friendly, and supportive of both novice and advanced users.
